Football Recap: Wheeling Central Catholic Skates Past Perry Traditional Academy with Ease

Wheeling Central Catholic entered their tilt with Perry Traditional Academy on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They blew past the Commodores 41-8. Given the Maroon Knights' advantage in MaxPreps' football rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 19th in West Virginia, while the Commodores are ranked 488th in Pennsylvania) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Kade Koroneos continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 107 yards and three scores on only 12 carries. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 107 rushing yards. Another player making a difference was Nico Kusic, who threw for 162 yards and three TDs on only 13 passes.

Wheeling Central Catholic's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB 7.5 times. Perry Traditional Academy's QB won't forget Maddox Stillion anytime soon given he sacked him three times.

Wheeling Central Catholic's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Perry Traditional Academy, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-5.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wheeling Central Catholic will challenge Barnesville at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Shamrocks' defense has only allowed seven points per game this season, so the Maroon Knights' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Perry Traditional Academy, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Brashear at 7:30 p.m.
