Volleyball Recap: Lake Region Gets the Win

Lake Region's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They came out on top against the Roosevelt Academy Eagles by a score of 2-0. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 2-0 last Saturday.

Jaylin Marin was a one-woman wrecking crew as she had 13 digs and six aces. Those six aces gave her a new career-high. Sophia Martinez also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

They weren't the only good servers: Lake Region was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 21 aces. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 2.9 aces per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matches they've averaged 8.6.

Lake Region's win bumped their record up to 2-19. As for Roosevelt Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 0-11.

Lake Region didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Lake Gibson on the 4th. As for Roosevelt Academy, they have also already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Davenport on the 4th.
