Softball Recap: Frankfort Comes Up Short

Frankfort suffered their closest loss since April 15, 2024 on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Herrin Tigers by a score of 12-10. If the Redbirds were looking for revenge after losing 12-9 to the Tigers when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Courtney Russell made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with four RBI and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Presley Trogolo, who went 3-for-5 with two RBI and one double.

Frankfort's defeat dropped their record down to 15-7. As for Herrin, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-14.

Frankfort does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Herrin, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Goreville at 4:30 p.m.
