Softball Recap: North Bullitt Comes Up Short

North Bullitt dropped their record down to 6-11 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Bethlehem Eagles/Banshees by a score of 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Eagles have suffered since April 15, 2024.

Amree Hammons was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off eight hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, Kaigen Kamber and Addison Ferguson stepped up to the plate in a big way. Kamber went 3-for-4 with one run and one double, while Ferguson went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That home run was Ferguson's first of the season.

As for Bethlehem, their record is now 21-14. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted since April 12th.

On Bethlehem's side, Emmalee Hettinger spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on seven hits and racked up ten Ks.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Gabby Luckett, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted over her last six contests. Another player making a difference was Cam Mitchell, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Looking ahead, North Bullitt will challenge North Oldham at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Bethlehem, they are taking a road trip to face off against Nelson County at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
