Flag Football Recap: South Hills Piles Up the Points Against West Covina

South Hills won the last time they faced West Covina and things went their way on Saturday too. The Huskies claimed a resounding 42-8 victory over the Bulldogs. Given the Huskies' advantage in MaxPreps' California flag football rankings (they are ranked 106th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 318th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

South Hills' win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Haley Ramos, who threw for 186 yards and four TDs. That's the most passing touchdowns Ramos has posted since back in August. Caitlyn Penate helped Ramos out on the ground, picking up 56 receiving yards and one score, while also rushing for 37 yards and one touchdown.

South Hills is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 8.9 points on average over those games. As for West Covina, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-9.

South Hills wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 21-0 win against San Dimas on the 27th. As for West Covina, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 41-0 victory against Victor Valley on the 27th.
