Football Recap: Father Lopez Takes a Loss

The Father Lopez Green Wave were within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 14-9 to the Joshua Christian Academy Eagles.

Colt Davis threw for 83 yards on 11 of 31 attempts. Rylan Demarsh was his top target, picking up 26 receiving yards. On the ground, Maverick Grimm rushed for 80 yards.

Father Lopez's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Joshua Christian Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and also bumps their season record up to 2-2.

Father Lopez wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 48-14 victory against Trinity Prep on the 19th. As for Joshua Christian Academy, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Faith Christian at 7:00 p.m. on the 26th. The Eagles will be up against the Lions' rather soft defense (which has allowed 26.75 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
