Volleyball Recap: Whitfield Takes a Loss

Whitfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 3-0 to the Veritas Christian Academy Eagles. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in September.

The defeat didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Veritas Christian Academy scored at least 17 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-17, 25-21, 25-17.

Kayla Scales paced Whitfield's offense, picking up nine kills. Scales got some help from Layla Gammage and her 16 assists. Haydan Brown controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Whitfield's loss dropped their record down to 4-19. As for Veritas Christian Academy, they now have a winning record of 4-3-1.

Whitfield does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Veritas Christian Academy, they have already played their next match, a 3-0 win against Mexico on the 21st.
