Softball Recap: Friday's Victory Is Hatton's Sixth in Last Eight Outings

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Hatton had no problem doing just that on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Brooks Lions. This was a revenge game for the Hornets: when they faced off against the Lions on April 3rd, they had to take a 7-1 defeat.

Hatton has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-24-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games. As for Brooks, they dropped their record down to 16-16 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

Brooks wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 3-1 win against Deshler on the 29th. Hopefully Hatton paid attention to the Lions' contest: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Lions on Tuesday.
