Softball Recap: Murphy Bulldogs vs. Robbinsville Black Knights
Murphy hadn't done well against Robbinsville recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Bulldogs walked away with a 10-5 victory over the Black Knights. For the Bulldogs, this counts as revenge for the 12-6 win the Black Knights walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2024.

Paisley Johnson spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and four unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Emma Hensley was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Julia Dockery, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Murphy is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season. As for Robbinsville, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 7-3.
Looking ahead, Robbinsville will host Smoky Mountain at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Murphy will be paying especially close attention to the Black Knights' contest: after the Black Knights faces off against the Mustangs, they'll take on Murphy again at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
