Volleyball Recap: Lapel's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak on the Road

Lapel lost against Oak Hill back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Golden Eagles by a score of 3-2.

Lapel was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Oak Hill work for it, especially in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 26-24, 20-25, 25-14, 23-25, 15-13.

When it comes to explaining why Lapel lost, don't look at Ohara Bledsoe. Despite the final result, she had 24 digs and two aces. Bledsoe has been hot recently, having posted 13 or more digs the last four times she's played. Krosley Riggs also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Oak Hill's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Addison Carey, who had 12 digs and one assist. That's the most digs Carey has posted since back in August. Another player making a difference was Ryeigh Myers, who had 12 digs and two assists.

Lapel's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-6. As for Oak Hill, the victory was the seventh in a row for them, bringing their record up to 13-8.

Looking ahead, Lapel will host Hamilton Heights at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Oak Hill, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Alexandria-Monroe at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
