Softball Game Preview: Magnolia Sentinels vs. Bolsa Grande Matadors

The Magnolia Sentinels will head out to challenge the Bolsa Grande Matadors at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. Magnolia has now lost eight straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since March 19.

Magnolia fell victim to Los Amigos and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They lost 11-0 to the Lobos.

Meanwhile, Bolsa Grande hadn't done well against Rancho Alamitos recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Matadors came out on top in a nail-biter against the Vaqueros, sneaking past 12-11.

Bolsa Grande is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-11 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for Magnolia, their loss dropped their record down to 1-11.

Magnolia might still be hurting after the 26-15 defeat they got from Bolsa Grande when the teams last played on April 2nd. Can the Sentinels avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
