Baseball Game Preview: Evangelical Christian Eagles vs. South Pontotoc Cougars

The Evangelical Christian Eagles will face off against the South Pontotoc Cougars at 2:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Evangelical Christian is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to ten runs on Thursday, they were much more limited against Arlington on Friday. They came up short against the Tigers, falling 7-1. The loss was the Eagles' first of the season.

Knox Aaron was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

Meanwhile, South Pontotoc was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 7-3 to Houston.

South Pontotoc saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jackson Harmon, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI. Those stolen bases were Harmon's first of the season. Another was Eli Faulkner, who went 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

South Pontotoc's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Evangelical Christian, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.
