Softball Preview: Longmont and Rangeview Square Off

The Longmont Trojans will take on The Rangeview Raiders at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Rangeview has given up an average of 10.8 runs per game this season, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Rangeview will be up against a hot Trojans team: the squad just extended their winning streak to three. Longmont put the hurt on Prairie View with a sharp 12-2 victory on Friday. Considering the Trojans have won three contests by more than nine runs this season, another big win was nothing new.

Hailey Murrell was excellent, going a perfect 4-for-4 while logging 1 home run, 4 runs, and 2 doubles. Another player making a difference was Skylar Becker, who went a perfect 2-for-2 while logging 2 RBIs, 2 runs, and 1 double.

Longmont swung out of their shoes and finished the game with two home runs. They have not posted that many home runs since the 20th, when they also launched two home runs.

Meanwhile, Rangeview unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They took an 11-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of Timnath.

Rangeview saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sophia Caloca, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances while posting 3 runs and 1 walk.

Longmont's win brought them up to 4-2. As for Rangeview, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.
