Soccer Game Preview: West Plains vs. Ysleta

The West Plains Wolves will challenge the Ysleta Indians at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. West Plains is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 4.8 goals per game this season.

West Plains is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They won by a goal and slipped past Burkburnett 2-1. Given West Plains' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 236th, while Burkburnett are ranked 563rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Kat Torres and Mya Bartlett scored both of West Plains' goals, bringing their combined season tally to 49 goals.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Ysleta, who bounced back after a loss on the road two weeks ago. They put the hurt on Andrews with a sharp 4-0 win on Thursday. The high-scoring effort was just what Ysleta needed considering they were shut out in their previous contest.

West Plains has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-3-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 56 goals over those ten games. Ysleta pushed their record up to 14-9 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home.
