Softball Recap: Mansfield Legacy Comes Up Short

Mansfield Legacy and Guyer squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Mansfield Legacy had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 6-5. The Broncos were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Wildcats earlier this season, when they won 5-2.

Mansfield Legacy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Natalie Moreaux, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run. Alexandra DiPaola also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Mansfield Legacy's defeat dropped their record down to 29-8. As for Guyer, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 15 of their last 16 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 27-4 record this season.

Mansfield Legacy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Guyer, they will take on Marcus on Saturday. The Marauders' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so the Wildcats' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
