Baseball Recap: Baker Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Baker came tearing into Monday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Laurel Hill Hoboes with a sharp 26-9 victory. That's more bragging rights for the Gators, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Ty Fernandez made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Fernandez was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs while going 2-for-5.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Maddox Smith, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with seven RBI, three runs, and one double. Those seven RBI gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Landon Garner, who scored a run and stole a base while going 4-for-4.

Baker was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .611. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in four consecutive matches.

Baker's record is now 4-1. As for Laurel Hill, their loss dropped their record down to 1-3-1.
