Softball Recap: Calais Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Jonesport-Beals, Calais was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They walked away with a 13-10 victory over the George Stevens Academy Eagles. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Blue Devils considering their two-run performance the contest before.

Calais let Alexis Sulkowski and Sarah Wentworth run wild. Sulkowski went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, four runs, and one RBI, while Wentworth went 2-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three RBI gave Wentworth a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubrey Beers-DeMolet, who went 2-for-5 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

The win got Calais back to even at 1-1. As for George Stevens Academy, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Calais has already played their next game, a 15-0 defeat against Narraguagus on the 28th. As for George Stevens Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 14-0 loss against Orono on the 29th.
