Basketball Recap: Christian Garcia Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Trinidad

Swallows Charter Academy won the last time they faced Trinidad and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Swallows Charter Academy Spartans enjoyed a cozy 59-41 victory over the Trinidad Miners. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Spartans.

Swallows Charter Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Christian Garcia, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 17 boards. Garcia has been hot recently, having posted 12 or more rebounds the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Charles Perry, who went 8-for-16 on his way to 22 points.

Swallows Charter Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 20 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Trinidad's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Isaiah Moreno, who posted nine points. Cole Gegelman was another key player, putting up eight points.

Swallows Charter Academy's record is now 13-5. As for Trinidad, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.
