Baseball Game Preview: Kimball Jaguars vs. West Wolfpack

For the second straight game, Kimball will face off against West. The Jaguars will square off against the Wolfpack at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.

Kimball took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They came out on top against West by a score of 6-1.

Jordan Aldape spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on six hits and racked up seven Ks. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Kimball is 3-1 when he allows at most two walks, but 5-14 otherwise.

At the plate, Kimball let Dawson Pelech and Aj Rodriguez run wild. Pelech went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one double, while Rodriguez went 2-for-3 with four RBI. Rodriguez is becoming a predictor of Kimball's success: when he posts at least three RBI the team is 2-1 (and 6-14 when he doesn't). James Isler was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Kimball was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .407. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .320 or higher in five consecutive games.

Kimball's victory was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-10 and their overall record up to 8-15. As for West, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 11 of their last 12 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-16-1 record this season.
