Baseball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Atchison

Atchison waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They never let the Harmon Hawks get on the board and left with a 15-0 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 22-0 on April 2nd.

Brandon Jackson looked comfortable as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Brody Barnes was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kolten Bonnel, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double.

Atchison always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Harmon only posted an OBP of .154.

Atchison's victory bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Harmon, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-15.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Atchison will square off against rival Washington at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Harmon is set to take on their familiar foe Sumner Academy on Thursday.
