Softball Recap: Langley's Undefeated Season over After Six Games

Langley came into their game on Thursday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Westfield Bulldogs, falling 10-4. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Saxons, who until this contest were averaging 2.33 runs allowed.

Juliet Sayers made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Caitlin Hohenthaner, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one double.

Having lost for the first time this season, Langley fell to 5-1. As for Westfield, their record is now 3-1.

Langley wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 4-2 loss against James Madison on the 28th. As for Westfield, they have also already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Broad Run on the 28th.
