Godinez Fundamental hadn't done well against Santa Ana recently (they were 0-5 in their previous five matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Godinez Fundamental narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Santa Ana 4-3. This was a revenge game for the Grizzlies: when they faced off against the Saints last Tuesday, they had to take a 5-3 loss.

Nickolas Ticas was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double. That's the most hits he has posted since back in March of 2024.

Godinez Fundamental's victory bumped their record up to 4-8. As for Santa Ana, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-5-1 record this season.

Godinez Fundamental will be playing at home against St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Santa Ana, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 9-4 defeat against Century on the 22nd.
