Iron Mountain won the last time they faced L'Anse and things went their way on Friday too. The Mountaineers snuck past the Purple Hornets with a 30-26 victory. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Mountaineers' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan football rankings (they are ranked 185th, while the Purple Hornets are ranked 442nd).

The win made it two in a row for Iron Mountain and bumps their season record up to 3-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 32.5 points over those games. As for L'Anse, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.

Coming up, Iron Mountain will take on Gwinn at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for L'Anse, they will face off against Bark River-Harris at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Purple Hornets will be up against the Broncos' rather soft defense (which has allowed 30.75 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
