Sayre entered their tilt with Berea on Friday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. They took down the Pirates 33-15. Given the Spartans' advantage in MaxPreps' Kentucky football rankings (they are ranked 78th, while the Pirates are ranked 223rd) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Sayre's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Berea, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sayre will square off against Frankfort at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Spartans will be up against the Panthers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 41.43 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Berea, they will face off against Eminence at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
