Baseball Game Preview: Garnet Valley Jaguars vs. Lower Merion Aces

The Garnet Valley Jaguars will square off against the Lower Merion Aces at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Garnet Valley 3.3, Lower Merion 4) so any runs scored will be well earned.

If Garnet Valley beats Lower Merion with seven runs on Wednesday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two contests with that exact score. Garnet Valley walked away with a 7-4 win over Ridley on Monday. The victory was familiar territory for the Jaguars, who have now won three matchups in a row.

Chris Schaller was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Brady Thompson, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with one triple and one run.

Schaller wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Garnet Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

Meanwhile, Lower Merion made easy work of Upper Darby on Monday and carried off a 14-1 win. The Aces have beaten the Royals the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Royals has come to flipping the script.

Garnet Valley's victory bumped their record up to 4-2. As for Lower Merion, their win bumped their record up to an identical 4-2.

Garnet Valley took their victory against Lower Merion in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 11-1. Will Garnet Valley repeat their success, or does Lower Merion has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
