Baseball Recap: Silver Creek Triumphs

Silver Creek lost to Sterling back in March, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Saturday. The Raptors came out on top against the Tigers by a score of 6-3. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Raptors.

Nate Spiegel spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on nine hits and racked up six Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Connor Lopez, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Silver Creek now has a winning record of 10-9. As for Sterling, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-4.

Coming up, Silver Creek will welcome Frederick at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Raptors' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Golden Eagles have averaged an impressive 6.3 runs per game this season. As for Sterling, they will venture away from home to square off against Platte Valley at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
