Recap: Mountain Island Charter Raptor vs. Bradford Prep Bears
The Mountain Island Charter Raptor were the 37-36 winner over the Bradford Prep Bears when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Mountain Island Charter fell 47-39 to Bradford Prep on Friday.
Despite the loss, Mountain Island Charter had strong showings from Kayla Fudge, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds, and Genesis Cooke, who scored two points along with five rebounds and three steals. Cooke is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played. Cayla Bridgewater was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Bradford Prep to victory, but perhaps none more so than Chenoa Kassegne, who scored ten points. Another player making a difference was Raquel Feliciano, who scored eight points.
Mountain Island Charter has not been sharp recently as the team has lost six of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season. As for Bradford Prep, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-12.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mountain Island Charter has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Pine Lake Prep at 6:00 p.m. on February 13th. Hopefully Mountain Island Charter focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 46 on Friday. As for Bradford Prep, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lincoln Charter at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The timing isn't great for Bradford Prep: they have been struggling with four straight losses at home, while Lincoln Charter has snatched up six consecutive wins on the road.
