Baseball Recap: Covenant Christian Comes Up Short

Covenant Christian and Park Tudor squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Covenant Christian had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Panthers by a score of 15-14. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Tuesday (13), the Warriors still had to take the loss.

Henry Boyce and Bryce Eagen stepped up to the plate in a big way. Boyce got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases and three runs, while Eagen went 3-for-4 with three runs and two RBI. Boyce has become a key player for Covenant Christian: the team is 8-2 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 9-10 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Blake Cope, who got on base in two of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs.

Covenant Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 17-12. As for Park Tudor, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-9 record this season.

Covenant Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Park Tudor, they will challenge University at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Trailblazers will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Panthers surely won't give up without a fight.
