Basketball Recap: Halifax Academy Takes a Loss

On Thursday, the Halifax Academy Vikings had to suffer through a 77-47 loss at the hands of the Lee Christian Falcons. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 545th, while the Falcons are ranked 253rd).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lee Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Daniel Rumbold, who shot 4-for-6 from beyond the arc and dropped a double-double with 20 points and 11 assists. Rumbold is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Justin Brown, who dropped a double-double with 15 points and 13 boards.

Halifax Academy's loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-16. As for Lee Christian, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-8 record this season.

Halifax Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lee Christian, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 64-63 defeat against Cape Fear Christian Academy on the 15th.
