Soccer Game Preview: Manteno vs. Herscher

Manteno hasn't had much luck against Herscher recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Panthers will venture away from home to take on the Tigers at 6:15 p.m. Both teams are coming into the match red-hot, with Manteno sitting on three straight victories and Herscher on seven.

On Thursday, Manteno got the win against Coal City by a conclusive 4-1. The result was nothing new for Manteno, who have now won nine contests by three goals or more so far this season.

They hit Coal City with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Peyton Boros (2), Lyndi Fenimore, and Jazmine Wilcoxen.

Meanwhile, Herscher kept a clean sheet against Bloomington Central Catholic on Monday. They had just enough and edged out the Saints 1-0.

Herscher's win bumped their record up to 16-2. As for Manteno, their victory bumped their record up to 9-7.

Manteno might still be hurting after the 6-0 loss they got from Herscher when the teams last played back in May of 2025. Can the Panthers avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
