Basketball Recap: Fairfield Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Fairfield, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They came out on top against the Hamilton County Foxes by a score of 48-35 on Tuesday. This was a revenge game for the Mules: when they faced off against the Foxes back in December of 2024, they had to take a 43-36 loss.

Fairfield's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-11. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.8 points over those games. As for Hamilton County, their defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 8-1 and their overall record down to 18-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fairfield will face off against North Clay/Clay City at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. North Clay/Clay City will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Fairfield surely won't give up without a fight. As for Hamilton County, they will head out to face off against Carmi-White County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
