Baseball Recap: Tuscarora's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Thursday

Tuscarora dropped their record down to 6-10 on Thursday, which also ended the team's five-game streak of wins. They lost 8-2 to the Heritage Pride. Having soared to a lofty ten runs in the game before, the Huskies couldn't push the score so high this time.

Tuscarora saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Michael Kozikowski, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

As for Heritage, their record now sits at 6-10. The game was the first time they have beaten Tuscarora on their field since May 25, 2022.

On Heritage's side, Aaron Van Tuyle spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on four hits and racked up ten Ks.

At the plate, Erick Flores was incredible, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Cooper Miskelly was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tuscarora will face off against Rock Ridge at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Heritage, they will square off against Woodgrove at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wolverines' pitching crew has only allowed 2.5 runs per game this season, so the Pride's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
