Baseball Recap: Gross Catholic Comes Up Short

Gross Catholic and Bennington squared off in some playoff action on Wednesday, but Gross Catholic had to settle for second. They lost 11-1 to the Badgers. Unfortunately, that's the fourth time they've come up short against the Badgers this season, with their most recent loss being a 6-0 defeat on Wednesday.

Drew Powers made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one triple and one run. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season.

This is the second loss in a row for Gross Catholic and nudges their season record down to 18-9. As for Bennington, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 14 of their last 15 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 29-4 record this season.

Gross Catholic does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Bennington, they have already played their next game, a 2-0 loss against Gretna East on the 23rd.
