Basketball Recap: Aquinas Comes Up Short

Aquinas suffered their closest loss since January 26, 2024 on Thursday. They fell just short of the La Crosse Logan Rangers by a score of 81-79. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Blugolds came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 14th, while the Rangers are ranked 245th).

Aquinas' defeat dropped their record down to 13-2. As for La Crosse Logan, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Aquinas will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Sparta at 7:15 p.m. on February 18th. As for La Crosse Logan, they will head out on the road to square off against Luther at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
