Softball Recap: Minersville Comes Up Short

Saturday just wasn't the day for Minersville's offense. They lost 9-0 to the Blue Mountain Eagles on Saturday. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, the Battlin' Miners' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Minersville's loss dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Blue Mountain, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Minersville will take on Nativity BVM at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Blue Mountain, they will challenge Pottsville at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Crimson Tide have averaged an impressive 7.5 runs per game this season.
