Soccer Recap: Deer Park Takes a Loss

After flying high against Clear Brook last Tuesday, Deer Park came back down to earth. The Deer Park Deer fell just short of the Clear Lake Falcons by a score of 2-1 on Friday. The contest was a 0-0 toss-up at halftime, but the Deer couldn't quite close it out.

Their goal came courtesy of Nelson Reyes, who's now up to four this season.

Deer Park's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 5-4-5. As for Clear Lake, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-2-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Deer Park will venture away from home to square off against Brazoswood at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Brazoswood will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more goals each game than the last. Clear Lake has already played their next matchup (against Clear Creek), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
