Sulphur took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Washington-Marion Charging Indians, sneaking past 28-26. Given the Golden Tors' advantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana football rankings (they are ranked 128th, while the Charging Indians are ranked 260th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Coming up, Sulphur will venture away from home to take on St. Louis Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on September 5. As for Washington-Marion, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Abbeville at 7:00 p.m. on September 5.
