Baseball Recap: Gateway Comes Up Short

Gateway was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They came up short against the Baldwin Highlanders, falling 8-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Highlanders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-0 on Monday.

Gateway's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Baldwin, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 5-4.

Gateway and Baldwin could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings. The Gators (ranked 334th) will meet Franklin Regional (ranked 116th) at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Baldwin will face off against Shaler Area at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank disadvantage (348 vs. 81).
