Preview: Madison Dragons vs. Tekamah-Herman Tigers
Two dominant guards in Jeremiah Sanchez and Brody Rogers are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Madison Dragons will head out on the road to square off against the Tekamah-Herman Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Madison is no doubt hoping to put an end to a ten-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Last Thursday, Madison was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 44-38 to David City.
Meanwhile, Tekamah-Herman's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their eighth straight loss. They were dealt a 68-29 loss at the hands of Fort Calhoun. While losing is never fun, Tekamah-Herman can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 246th, while Fort Calhoun is ranked 43rd).
Madison has not been sharp recently as the team has lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-9 record this season. As for Tekamah-Herman, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-15.
Madison didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Tekamah-Herman in their previous meeting back in January, but they still walked away with a 52-48 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Madison since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
