Baseball Game Preview: Family Community Christian vs. Glenbrook Apaches

Family Community Christian are taking a road trip to square off against the Glenbrook Apaches at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Family Community Christian's pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so Glenbrook's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Family Community Christian will bounce into Tuesday's contest after beating Mangham, who they had gone 0-6 against in their six prior meetings. Family Community Christian won by a run and slipped past Mangham 6-5. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Family Community Christian.

Kyler Roberts was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. That's the most hits he has posted since back in February. Blayne Lord was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Meanwhile, while Glenbrook put up some runs on Monday, the same can't be said for Neville. Glenbrook blew past Neville 10-0. With that victory, the Apaches brought their scoring average up to 6.2 runs per game.

Sam Ricord and Preston Frye did most of the damage at the plate: Ricord scored two runs while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances, while Frye scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances. Glenbrook is undefeated when Ricord posts two or more runs, but 8-9-1 otherwise. Hudson Glasscock also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

Glenbrook pushed their record up to 11-9-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Family Community Christian, their win bumped their record up to 15-9.
