Baseball Recap: Lamar Consolidated Takes a Loss

Lamar Consolidated extended their losing streak to four on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 6-20 in the process. They came up short against the Victoria West Warriors, falling 9-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Mustangs of the 6-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2018.

As for Victoria West, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6-2 record this season. The result was nothing new for Victoria West, who have now won ten matches by six runs or more so far this season.

For Victoria West's part, Evan Waters was a standout: he went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Waters has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Aiden Deleon, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

While Lamar Consolidated had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
