Volleyball Recap: Franklin Academy Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Franklin Academy extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to seven on Monday, dropping them down to 0-3. They lost 3-0 to the Vance Charter Knights. Patriots fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team has lost against the Knights since Monday.

Abigail Cuppett paced Franklin Academy's offense, picking up six kills. Cuppett got some help from Carson Turner and her eight assists. Cuppett was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

As for Vance Charter, they pushed their record up to 3-0 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The game was the first time they have beaten Franklin Academy on their court since October 4, 2021.

Among those leading the charge was Ella Barnes, who had seven digs and three aces. That's the most aces she has posted since back in September of 2024.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Franklin Academy will welcome Research Triangle at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The match will give the Patriots their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Vance Charter, they will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against South Granville at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
