Football Recap: Baker Takes a Loss

Baker was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their tenth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were outmatched by the Marshfield Pirates and fell 49-0. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Pirates apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Leading Marshfield to victory were Enoch Niblett and Jaden Tice. Niblett threw for 149 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 passes, while Tice rushed for 78 yards and one score on only five carries. Those three passing touchdowns gave Niblett a new career-high. Hadyn Widdicombe was another key player, gaining 86 total yards and a touchdown.

Baker's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Marshfield, the win (which was their fourth in a row dating back to last season) raised their record to 3-0.

Looking ahead, Baker will take on Vale at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Marshfield, they will face off against Junction City at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
