Preview: Forrest Rockets vs. Cascade Champions
Forrest is 0-10 against Cascade since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Forrest Rockets will head out on the road to challenge the Cascade Champions at 7:30 p.m. Forrest is no doubt hoping to put an end to a 15-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Last Tuesday, Forrest was beaten by Cannon County 75-39. Forrest has struggled against Cannon County recently, as their match on Tuesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Jimmy Bond, who scored 11 points along with two steals. Another player making a difference was Brayson Mccown, who scored 13 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Cascade came up short against Grundy County on Tuesday and fell 61-50. While losing is never fun, Cascade can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 258th, while Grundy County is ranked 116th).
Forrest has been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-19 record this season. As for Cascade, their loss dropped their record down to 7-12.
Forrest was dealt a bruising 64-29 defeat at the hands of Cascade in their previous meeting last Tuesday. The matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Forrest was down 37-9.
