League recap: Munday tops Muenster to extend winning streak

Munday extended the longest winning streak in 1A-2 Region II District 8 this week by beating Muenster, 45-10. The victory was the eighth in a row for the team.

Munday took down the Hornets 45-10 last week, the largest margin of any game. Dee Paul threw for 75 yards and ran for 94 yards in the win.

Patrick Corcoran's team's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Roddrick Taylor chipped in 120 yards. LJ Collier helped Munday's passing attack out by catching one ball for 34 yards.

Trey Stinnett was the best wideout in the league this week as the Moguls bested Muenster. Stinnett racked up one reception for 41 yards.

Munday's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Moguls feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Paul has thrown for 912 yards and 13 touchdowns this season, while Collier has 10 catches for 242 yards. Paul also leads the league in rushing with 923 yards.

Paul of the Munday is only 77 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season.

A big matchup in 1A-2 Region II District 8 this week will be when Perrin-Whitt takes on Electra. The Pirates are currently in fourth, while the Tigers are in second.

Perrin-Whitt made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 10,084 from 10,413. The improvement came about via a 31-12 victory over the Hornets last week.
