Softball Game Preview: Campo Verde Coyotes vs. Mountain Pointe Pride

For the second straight game, Campo Verde will face off against Mountain Pointe. The Coyotes will be playing in front of their home fans against the Pride at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.

Having struggled with three defeats in a row, Campo Verde turned things around against Mountain Pointe on Tuesday. They walked away with a 6-2 victory over the Pride.

Addyson Armstrong spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on five hits and racked up nine Ks.

On the hitting side, Amaya Hernandez was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-5. Anna Zehring was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

Hernandez wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Campo Verde kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. The Coyotes are a perfect 5-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Campo Verde's win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 6-13. As for Mountain Pointe, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-10-1.
