Softball Recap: Christopher Cougars vs. Del Mar Dons
Christopher got themselves on the board against Del Mar on Friday, but Del Mar never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Dons with a sharp 12-0 win. Considering the Cougars have won three contests by more than nine runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Brianna Diaz Cruz was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit over five innings pitched. Diaz Cruz was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, Christopher got a massive performance out of Melissa Lugo, who went 3-for-4 with two triples, three runs, and one double. Those two triples gave Lugo a new career-high. Olivia Wilson was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one triple, and two RBI.
Christopher's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-6. As for Del Mar, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.
