After a string of four wins, Centennial's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a blow against the Roosevelt Mustangs, falling 83-51. While losing is never fun, the Huskies can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 90th, while the Mustangs are ranked second).
Brayden Burries was his usual excellent self, going 15 for 23 on his way to 39 points in addition to eight boards and three steals for Roosevelt. That makes it four consecutive games in which Burries has scored at least a third of Roosevelt's points. Another player making a difference was Myles Walker, who posted four points along with 13 assists, seven rebounds, and six steals.
Centennial's loss dropped their record down to 14-16. As for Roosevelt, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 27-2.
