Baseball Game Preview: Sweet Home Panthers vs. Niagara Falls Wolverines

The Sweet Home Panthers will head out to take on the Niagara Falls Wolverines at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sweet Home will be strutting in after a win while Niagara Falls will be coming in after a loss.

Sweet Home will roll into the match after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up one run on Friday, then bounced right back against Kenmore West on Monday. The Panthers came out on top against the Blue Devils by a score of 10-5. The victory continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Blue Devils: they've now won three in a row.

Kyle Hall made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Rocco Panepinto was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run and four RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. Nate Mackiewicz also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Meanwhile, Niagara Falls unfortunately witnessed the end of their 11-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of Williamsville South by a score of 8-7.

Anthony Littere and Anthony Savino did some serious damage despite the final result: Littere got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one double, while Savino went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Niagara Falls' defeat dropped their record down to 14-2. As for Sweet Home, the win got them back to even at 8-8-1.

Sweet Home suffered a grim 8-2 defeat to Niagara Falls in their previous matchup back in April of 2023. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
