Basketball Recap: Eunice Beats Tatum for Their Third Straight Win

Eunice waltzed into their contest on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They walked away with a 64-51 victory over the Tatum Coyotes. That's the third time they've managed to beat them this season, with their most recent win being a 58-49 victory last Tuesday.

Despite the defeat, Tatum saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Aaron Marizcal on his way to 30 points and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Marizcal has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Robert Martinez, who posted six points and nine boards.

Eunice's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-8. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.0 points over those games. As for Tatum, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost 12 of their last 13 matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-21 record this season.

Eunice will square off against Texico at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Texico knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten games -- so hopefully Eunice likes a good challenge. Tatum does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
